Post Oak Lodge was the venue for the amazing wedding of Nikki & Mark. It was a beautiful evening and such a sweet ceremony, in the Evergreen room. The flowergirl and ringbearers said at the bride and groom's feet as they said their vows. Just adorable.
DJ Richard had that place rockin out to his AMAZING sound quality equipment and lighting. It really set the mood for the whole event.

Tracy & Chris got married this summer at Holy Family Cathedral. Before the ceremony they chose to see each other in Centennial Park. It was close to 100 degrees that day, but the heat didn't phase them. One of the sweetest parts of the day was when Tracy did a short interview just minutes before the ceremony. Tracy is a former news reporter, and she was perfectly poised at first... but it didn't take long for the emotion of the day to take over and she brought everyone in her bridal room to tears. She may just do the same for you.

Do I Really Need a Wedding Coordinator?

I'm a bit biased so I will say a HUGE... YES!!!
But, at the very least, you need to hire a day-of-coordinator. This insures you will be able to enjoy your day and be stress free. Although some choose to cut this vendor as a way to save money, having someone with no experience (such as an Aunt, Cousin or Friend), is a huge risk. And wouldn't you prefer they enjoy the day with you, rather than working for you?

What does a Wedding Coordinator do?

A day-of-coordinator will be the one person who makes sure EVERYTHING comes together as you've planned. Their work begins months before the wedding day as they put together timelines, confirm details with your other vendors, gather contact info, and arrival times, etc.

Calling your vendors is of the utmost importance. As a Wedding Coordinator, I have actually called vendors to confirm times, only to discover they had the wrong date!

A Wedding Coordinator wears many hats!

With an average work day of 8-12 hours, your Wedding Coordinator spends the most amount of time at your wedding the day of.

Although wedding day make-up should be heavier than you normally wear, keep in mind it should enhance your natural beauty, not cover you up!
The main reason for this is your photos, which have a tendency to make us look washed out. My photography makeup instructor emphasized this point, from the start.

For the appearance of flawless skin, our airbrush product is a must-have.
It goes on as a mist, by letting each layer dry in between, so I can build a flawless look. Its oil free, paraben free and will last at least 24 hours (if you don't wash it off).

Current trends: This season I am seeing an updated vintage look. Think Marilyn Monroe but softer; smudged liner instead of heavy liquid and red lips. Not a fan of red lips? Not to worry, corals and fun spring pinks are also in, as is purple eyeshadow (perfect for brides with green or brown eyes).

Thank you to the Hotel Ambassador for hosting today's Tulsa Wedding Society meeting. It was exciting to hear about the hotel, The Chalkboard Restaurant and McBirney Mansion!
At the Chalkboard, the Tuscany Room will hold 70, a wine cellar room holding 35 and a Provanc room for 25. Perfect for a rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon and/or a small reception!
The hotel has 55 rooms with luxury Suites.

Also in attendance was Jane Cox, owner of The Cover Girls. They provide chair covers, sashes, overlays, runners, sweetheart tables and cake tables! If there's a color you want, she can get it. Call Jane to create the chairs and tables for your dream wedding!

The Cover Girls met bride-to-be Catherine Milner at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show in September 2010. She quickly booked and we proceeded to work on the table and chair decor for her Dec. 28th wedding. She expressed her desire to have a Winter Wonderland Wedding.

Catherine chose baby blue satin sashes, white chair covers and a pearl organza white overlay for her decor. It was very much a winter wonderland look! Soon after, I was excited to hear that Catherine had chosen wedding planner, Erica Weddings for her event!

It was a beautiful wedding and at the end of the night, during tear down, I then realized Old Urban Trolley was the transportation vendor!

Catherine was a wonderful bride that I am so honored to have worked with. And great working with the other Tulsa Wedding Society vendors that Catherine chose for her big day. Congrats Catherine!

Hayden and David had a beautifully, classic wedding. Every detail of this wedding was gorgeous; from the soft blue colors to the traditional black tuxes. The couple was married at Park Plaza Christian Church and held their reception at Five Oaks Lodge in Jenks. What makes a wedding unique are the personal little touches a couple adds, and Hayden did a great job with those details. The diamond Hayden wore around her neck was from her mother's engagement ring. They also served a signature drink! This was a truly unforgettable wedding!

Sara and Wade had an unbelievably gorgeous wedding at Post Oak Lodge in June. Sara was ALL about the details! While she had plenty of flowers, a lot of her decor was actually done by using stationary. She designed a custom logo for the two of them and it was on everything. Her colors of green and black worked perfectly with the setting. Despite it being a hot and humid day, as soon as Sara started walking down the aisle, the humidity lifted and a there was a soft breeze. Once the reception really got going, everyone was on the dance floor! So many of the Tulsa Wedding Society members got to be a part of this wonderful day and we're so honored!

Because they had such a large wedding party, and wanted lots of time for gorgeous portraits, they opted for a "first look" before the ceremony.
